Oscar Wilde said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But he was wrong. In our book, naming a beer after you is miles better.

The Royal Docks Brewing Company is based in Canton, Ohio. Founder John Bikis spent a year living near London’s Royal Docks and was inspired by the history and heritage of the area.

“The name came to us in a flash, as we were sitting on the banks of Western Gateway Road,” explains Bikis. “We decided to name our company after the Royal Docks and develop a logo that represented the cranes running along the quayside.

“But it’s not all about the name. The place has broader meaning to us because it represents heritage, hard work and progress – which are core values to our business.”

Royal Docks describes itself as a brewery and taproom combining the renaissance in craft beer production with the traditional culture of the classic British pub.

It’s a story that’s well told and we’re sure it’s a beer that’s worth sampling (hint hint…). For more information visit Royal Docks Brewing Company.
