ABP London, the company behind the transformation of the Royal Albert Dock, has announced it will receive tens of millions of pounds from Indian property company Strawberry Star Group as part of its plans to create London’s next business district.The two companies signed heads of agreement at an event to mark the official launch of sales for the £1.7 billion development at Albert Dock. More than 10 enterprises from the UK and Asia signed confirmation agreements and each paid a £50k reservation fee to secure office space in the first phase of the 4.7 million sq ft development in advance of construction work starting on site until later this year. According to ABP, the first occupiers are companies operating in the life sciences, high tech and financial sectors.

Plans include construction of 20 terraced office buildings, which will line both the dockside and the business high street. The first building will be ready in 2017 and the first phase of the reconstruction of the Albert Dock will be completed in 2018.
